TENNIS

I would like
to encourage everyone to play tennis. This is one of the most rewarding
sports anyone can play today.
Once you have the
basic skills you can find people at your level and play for the rest of your
life! Meeting new players and having more fun than you could ever
imagine!
If your lucky you
will get the chance to play on a USTA Team league. Teams start at 3.5
level.
So if you are in
need of a great life style and want to meet people and have fun, TENNIS might be
just the right direction you should put your life on.
Here is some links
to get signed up and get started!

Below is an example of how
much fun one can have if you become a little consistent on your serve and return
of serve.......I did all this with a bad back and lame left lower leg! So do not
give up if you have physical problems...you just have to try harder...
1972-1973..... Recreation and Business Major Foothill College,
Los Altos, California. Supervised Intramural Tennis Tournaments. Instructors: Mr. Halley, Dick Gould, Tom Shevinton (tom convinced me that I could play tennis because you only have to run 30 feet
most of the time and, doubles is even easier!)

Jim
Carlton is an old friend
of mine that was a doubles partner in portland oregon until he was hit in a dune
buggy accident at the oregon coast. he continued to go to our usta men's
tennis team matches even when then he could not even use his wheel chair.
He would sit and watch the matches even though he could not move his head.
the usta found out about his spirit and shear will to be involved in some way
and gave the whole team a national award. as seen here some years later he
is now playing with the racquet taped to his hand. there are no words that
can match this mans spirit to play tennis.
